COMPENSATION COMMITTEE VISIT RESETTLEMENT PROJECT IN ZIMBABWE

Compensation Committee (COCO) visited a resettlement project in rural Zimbabwe, Gweru district. The National Social Security Authority (NSSA) Dzimba project offers select paraplegic and quadriplegics homes to improve accessibility, independence, comfort and safety, emotional well-being, social inclusion, and an enhanced quality of life.
The move to construct customised houses was made after the realisation that most NSSA grossly disabled pensioners were living in deplorable environments that were detrimental to their health and wellbeing.
The Committe was inspired with the holistic resettlement model as the provision of basic modern homes , toilets and safe water, to the homeless and grossly injured[70% disability rate] workers is an important corporate developmental responsibility in the modern management of social security.
